This role gained him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor at just 11-years-old, and though he lost to Michael Caine, the veteran actor made a memorable tribute to the talented young actor in his acceptance speech. Haley maintains a sensible outlook on his career, to quote him: "I try not to let the fame part of it be a factor in every day life .... because that's not the most important thing about this business for me, it's about the work, and I think if I continue to focus on that, I hope that my career will be able continue as well as it has been going so far."
